Organized in 1876 as a reunion of graduates during the 25th anniversary year of The Buffalo Female Academy (renamed The Buffalo Seminary in 1889). In 1884 the Association incorporated and built its Chapter House on Johnson Park, across from the school. Activities included continuing education for members, annual school anniversary celebrations, and fundraising efforts on behalf of the school.
